Gzira Shaded 2BR · Retreat is the third-floor apartment on the courtyard side of Gzira Residence — a brand new building finished in 2026. The courtyard side is naturally shaded during the hottest afternoon hours, which makes a real difference in Maltese summers when temperatures hit 35°C. The balcony stays cool enough to sit on even in July and August.
Inside, the layout is the same as every apartment in the building: two bedrooms, one bathroom, and an open-plan living-kitchen area with a smart TV and sofa that converts to sleep two additional guests. Both bedrooms can be configured as a double or two twins. Air conditioning throughout. Free fibre WiFi.
If you're visiting Malta in summer, the courtyard-side apartments are the practical choice — less direct sun means the A/C works less hard and the apartment stays naturally cooler. At the third floor you also get minimal street noise and a sense of privacy. The seafront and ferry are still five minutes on foot.

Is this apartment cooler in summer than the city-side ones?
Yes. The courtyard side is shaded during the hottest afternoon hours, so the apartment stays naturally cooler. You still have air conditioning of course, but it doesn't need to work as hard. Several summer guests have specifically mentioned the temperature difference compared to street-facing apartments they've stayed in elsewhere in Malta.
Double bed or two twins?
Both bedrooms can be set up either way. Let us know at booking or on WhatsApp before arrival — we'll have it ready for you.
Can 5 or 6 people stay here?
Yes. The sofa in the living room converts to a comfortable double bed, so the apartment sleeps up to 6. Just mention it when you book — we'll prepare extra linen and towels.
How does check-in work?
Contactless self check-in. The evening before arrival you receive a WhatsApp with the exact address, door code, lift access and WiFi password. You let yourself in whenever you arrive.
Is there parking?
On-street parking in Gzira is free. In peak season (June–September) you may need to park a street or two away. Most guests don't need a car — the ferry to Valletta and the bus network cover everything.
Can I bring a pet?
